Mike Medici

President & Managing Partner at SmithGroup

Mike leads SmithGroup as president and managing partner, as part of a three-person leadership team. While heading their industry-focused practices and firmwide marketing, he continues to build on more than 25 years of experience in architectural management and design. His experience comprises a number of the nation's leading technology centers and research laboratories, including the National Renewable Energy Laboratory Energy Systems Integration Facility in Golden, Colorado, and the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Phoenix. Mike is clearly inspired by the work of his clients. "The Energy Systems Integration Facility is a wonderful challenge," he remarks. "This project could change the world they live in." Had he not found his calling in architecture, Mike believes that he would have become "a world-renowned bioscience researcher focused on curing cancer." Instead, aspiring architects benefit from Mike's dedication. Based in Phoenix, he is active in Arizona State University's School of Architecture and leads the firm's local scholarship offerings.
