Daryl Calhoun

Daryl joined Smiths Medical in March 2020 as the Vice President of Global Research and Development.

Daryl has more than 21 years of R&D and medical device experience, with proven leadership in new product development, portfolio management, embedded software and sustaining engineering.

Prior to joining Smiths Medical, Daryl served as Vice President PMO and R&D at Immucor, a leading provider of transfusion and transplant diagnostic products worldwide. He has implemented cross-functional processes for new product development which have improved product launch success rate. Prior to Immucor, he held various R&D and PMO leadership roles at Fresenius Kabi USA, Fenwal Inc. and Baxter Healthcare Corporation.

Daryl holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Delaware, Newark.
