Alaina Gibbs

Alaina Gibbs serves as the Associate Director of Volunteer Engagement at the Smithsonian Institution since August 2019. Previously, Alaina held the position of Director of Board Relations and Strategic Initiatives at NPR from March 2013 to August 2019, where responsibilities included directing annual and long-term strategic planning for the NPR Foundation Board of Trustees. Prior experience includes roles at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as both Foundation Board & Volunteer Relations Manager and in Individual Giving, managing key committees related to the arts. Alaina holds a B.A. in Art History from Wesleyan University and an M.A. in Public Art Studies/Art and Curatorial Practices in the Public Sphere from the University of Southern California.
