Anna Votaw

Anna Votaw is an emerging legal professional currently serving as an Articles Editor for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review since July 2023. Votaw has acquired practical legal experience through various law clerk positions at Walters, Balido & Crain LLP, Childers Hewett Slagle PLLC, and Allen Bryson, PLLC, alongside a role as a Faculty Research Fellow at SMU Dedman School of Law. Prior experience includes legislative roles, such as Legislative Assistant at the Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Legislative Aide at the Texas House of Representatives, along with editorial work as an Intern at PaperCity Magazine. Votaw holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Southern Methodist University, expected in May 2025, and a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin, completed in December 2021. Academic achievements include graduating with Distinguished Honors from Houston Christian High School.
