Mercedes I Armillas is a seasoned architectural professional with extensive experience in project leadership and management across prominent firms. Currently serving as a Senior Project Leader at Snøhetta and Principal at ANTHROPE Architecture since 2020, Armillas has contributed significantly to various cultural and educational projects, including renovations and new constructions at notable institutions such as David Geffen Hall and Columbia Business School. Previously, Armillas held key roles at FXCollaborative and H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture, managing significant projects like the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts and Adas Israel Synagogue. Active in the architectural community, Armillas is also the Program Director for the Cultural Facilities Committee at the AIA New York | Center for Architecture and serves on the Advisory Board of the Miller Theatre at Columbia University. Armillas holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union and has enriched the field through diverse architectural and project management experiences.
