Hannah Lonergan

Hannah Lonergan has a diverse range of work experience across various industries. Starting in 2018, they worked as a Swim Instructor at Elmhurst Park District. In 2019, they became an Art Camp Counselor at Elmhurst Art Museum: Art, Education & Architecture, a role they held until 2022.

In 2022, Hannah joined both Illinois Public Media as a News Reporter and WPGU 107.1 as a News Correspondent. Hannah continued these roles until 2023.

During the same year, Hannah also held positions at Fighting Illini Productions as a Video Production Intern, Their Campus UIUC as an Editorial Team Member, and Society of Professional Journalists as Vice President.

In 2023, they became a Barista at Brewpoint Coffee and an Illini Media Board Member at Illini Media. Hannah also started working at UI7 Newsroom, where they currently hold the positions of Senior Producer, Lab Monitor, and News Anchor.

Furthermore, Hannah serves as the President of the Society of Professional Journalists, a role they have held since 2023.

Hannah Lonergan completed their high school education at York Comm High School from 2017 to 2021, earning a High School Diploma. Hannah then pursued further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2021 to 2025, studying Journalism as their field of study.
