Chamila Hewage has an extensive work experience. In 2006, they started working as a Sales Executive for Credit Card Sales at Standard Chartered Bank, where they served until 2008. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Business Development Associate for Home Loans Sales at National Development Bank PLC (NDB). Chamila then moved on to Union Assurance PLC, where they held several roles including Executive in the DTA Unit, Senior Executive for NTB and DFCC Operations, Senior Executive for Operations and Recruitment Support Unit in the Bancassurance department, and finally as an Assistant Manager in the Digital and New Markets division. Their most recent position is at Softlogic Life, where they joined in 2018 as the Manager for Bancassurance and later transitioned into the role of Channel Manager (Se.Mgr).

Chamila Hewage has an educational background that spans various fields of study. In 2004, they attended St. John's College - Nugegoda where they focused on commerce. Following this, in 2007 and 2008, they pursued a degree in Certified Management Accountancy at the Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Australia, specializing in accounting and business/management.
