Roy Ian

Roy Ian has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Roy started their career in 2016 as a Senior Testing Tool Developer at MillenniumIT. In 2018, they worked as a Bigdata and Data Science Engineer at Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. From 2019 to 2022, they served as a Data Scientist at Wiley and later as a Senior Data Scientist at ADA. In these positions, they led data science teams, handled multiple products, worked directly with clients, and utilized AWS-based systems and deep learning techniques for data analysis and product development. In 2020, Roy took on the role of Guest Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa, and they continued their career in academia by serving as a Visiting Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Royal Institute of Colombo, Saegis Campus, and AEMC - Australian Education and Management Consultants. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Vice President - Digital Innovations at Softlogic Life since 2022.

Roy Ian completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, graduating in 2016. Roy then pursued a Master's degree in Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics at the same university from 2018 to 2019. Prior to their university education, they attended St. Peter's College for their high school education, where they focused on Mathematics. In addition to their formal education, Roy Ian has obtained several certifications, including "Learning Amazon SageMaker" from LinkedIn in September 2021, "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn in July 2021, "Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers" from LinkedIn in November 2020, "Building Deep Learning Applications with Keras 2.0" from LinkedIn in June 2020, and "Deep Learning: Face Recognition" and "Deep Learning: Image Recognition" from LinkedIn in June 2020.
