As Solar Landscape’s Head of People, you will lead the company’s HR/People function, overseeing a team of 4 and serving as the overall lead for all aspects of HR operations. Your responsibilities will include payroll, benefits administration, compliance, systems management, talent acquisition, professional development programs, and performance management. You will ensure that our HR function aligns with Solar Landscape’s strategic growth goals, supporting the company’s vision of being a best-in-class employer. This role demands a strategic, hands-on leader with a deep understanding of HR best practices and exceptional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations: Oversee all aspects of People / HR operations, including implementing and managing a new HRIS systems, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies for attracting top talent to support the company's growth objectives. Oversee talent acquisition team and ensure we have a best-in-class recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Professional Development: Design and oversee programs for employee training, professional development, and career advancement. Identify opportunities for skills enhancement and succession planning to support individual growth and organizational effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Establish and administer performance appraisal processes to evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and recognize achievements. Work with managers to set clear performance goals and objectives aligned with company priorities. Set up system to track performance reviews.
  • Employee Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, respected, and motivated to contribute their best efforts. Implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, such as employee recognition programs, team-building activities, and wellness initiatives.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees and managers on HR-related matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation. Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Compliance: Stay current on relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure company policies and practices remain compliant. Implement measures to mitigate risks and maintain a positive employer-employee relationship.
  • HR Strategy & Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership to align HR strategies with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.  Build and lead the HR/People team, ensuring they have the resources and training needed to perform at a high level. Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth environment, preferably within the renewable energy or technology sector.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience implementing and managing HRIS systems, payroll processing, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
