Erik Linden

Senior Director, Employee Communications at NRG Energy

Erik Linden has a diverse work experience in various communication roles. Erik started their career as a Business/Finance Reporter at Silicon Valley Business Ink, where they covered the technology industry. Erik then worked as a Senior Speechwriter for the Executive Office of DC Mayor Anthony A. Williams, followed by a role as Communications Director for the District of Columbia Department of Transportation. Erik joined NRG Energy in 2008 as a Manager of Communications, representing the company as a pioneer in cleaner and smarter energy choices. Erik later became the Director of Renewable Energy Communications and then Senior Director of Employee Communications, leading strategic and creative internal communications for NRG and hosting an employee podcast.

Erik Linden earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from American University, completing their studies from 1990 to 1994. Erik later pursued a Master of Science degree in Journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, attending from 1998 to 1999.
