Steve Brown

Steve Brown is the current Chief Lending Officer at Solarity Credit Union. Prior to their current position, Steve served as the Vice President of Commercial Lending at InRoads Credit Union from June 2017 to November 2020. In this role, Steve managed the Credit Union's full service commercial lending division and portfolio. Steve was also a member of the Credit Review Committee (CRC), ALM Committee and Senior Management Team. These committees collectively oversaw organizational credit tolerances (programs and pricing), large credit approval, market risk, and regulatory and advisory reporting, finance & lending operations, retail and organizational strategic planning.

Steve has also mentored relationship management/sales staff in exceeding goals through effective relationship development. Steve has taught relationship management/sales and underwriting/analyst staff prudent credit and risk analysis, due diligence, underwriting, and proper credit/pricing structure. Steve has credit authority for all commercial and participation credits, and is the preflight reviewer of CRC required credits. Additionally, Steve manages participant lending network relationships for both purchase and sale opportunities. Steve also monitors portfolio risk rating improvement/deterioration making appropriate changes to problem loan report. Finally, they prepare quarterly Problem Loan Reports (PLR) and FASB Impairment Worksheets.

Steve Brown has an undergraduate accounting certificate from Ashworth College. Steve also has a certification in business banking and commercial lending from the American Bankers Association. Additionally, they have a graduate commercial lending school certification from the American Bankers Association. Steve is also a program graduate in relationship management, lending, and banking operations from the National Bank of Alaska Management Training Program. Lastly, they have an industrial security certification from the Community College of the United States Air Force, Elmendorf Air Force.
