Tessa Pocock

Chief Science Officer at Soli Organic

Tessa Pocock has extensive experience in the field of plant research and LED technology. Tessa is currently the Chief Science Officer at Soli Organic, a position they assumed in May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Plenty as the Director of Lighting Optimization from March 2019 to May 2021. Before that, Tessa held the role of Senior Research Development Scientist at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from August 2013 to February 2019. In this position, they focused on spectrum optimization of crop growth using LED technology and developed a remote sensor for monitoring crop physiology. Tessa also served as the Director of Research at Heliospectra AB from February 2007 to July 2013, where they conducted numerous spectral experiments on various crop species to understand their light requirements.

Tessa Pocock obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Plant Physiology from Western University in 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Plant Physiology at the same university from 1998 to 2000. To further their education, they then enrolled in Western University again and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Environmental Stress Biology from 2000 to 2004.
