Asad Chohan

Asad Chohan has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Asad currently holds the position of Principal Data Scientist at Solutions by STC since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Data Science Specialist at Saudi Aramco Rowan from February 2020 to June 2021, where they were responsible for driving and managing the corporate-wide data and reporting strategy. Asad also managed Azure on-cloud Power BI reporting architecture for the on-premises data ecosystem.

Before joining Saudi Aramco Rowan, Asad worked as a Big Data Analytics Specialist at Mobily from November 2018 to January 2020. There, they were responsible for facilitating the reporting layer and implementing business use cases on the Big Data platform. Asad also played a key role in driving and implementing data ingestion pipelines and leading Data Lake initiatives for future vision analytics.

Prior to their role at Mobily, Asad worked at Teradata for several years. From January 2014 to October 2018, they served as a Data Scientist, where they resolved business problems in the banking and telecom industries using data science and machine learning approaches. During this time, they followed CRISP-DM and SEMMA methodologies for analytical framework development. Asad also performed data wrangling and outlier analysis using various techniques.

Furthermore, at Teradata, Asad worked as a Data Integration Consultant from November 2011 to December 2013. In this role, they focused on data ingestion (ETL) for different Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) projects for telecom and financial sector clients. Asad led and managed a team of developers and delivered ETL mappings for operational systems.

Before entering the field of data science, Asad worked as a Software Engineer at Makkays from May 2010 to October 2011 and at Ora-Tech Systems from November 2009 to April 2010.

Asad Chohan completed their Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Bahria University between 2005 and 2009. Asad then pursued their Master's degree in Software Engineering at the same university from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including Certified Artificial Intelligence Specialist from Arcitura Education Inc. in 2022 and Six Sigma Yellow Belt from 6sigmastudy in 2023. Asad also received certifications in Big Data and Teradata in earlier years.
