Sama Shrestha

Sama Shrestha is a Bioinformatics Scientist at Standard BioTools since January 2024, with ongoing responsibilities that continue from a previous role at SomaLogic, where Shrestha served as a Scientist specializing in Bioinformatics since November 2021. In this capacity, Shrestha focuses on the statistical analysis of high-dimensional proteomic data to enhance clinical and marketing research for SomaSignal diagnostic tests and develops predictive survival and classification models using machine learning algorithms. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Statistician I and Statistician II at Pharmapace, Inc., a Postdoctoral Researcher at UC San Diego, and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder, where Shrestha worked on various statistical and Bayesian modeling projects. Educationally, Shrestha holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder, alongside a Bachelor's degree from Trinity College-Hartford.
