Douglas Newton M.D., Mph

Douglas Newton, MD, MPH has extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Douglas began working as the Chief of Integrated Behavioral Health and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG) in July 2009, a role they held until March 2018. Douglas then moved to Kaiser Permanente Care Management Institute, where they served as the National Clinical Lead for Pediatric Mental Health and Wellness from April 2014 to September 2018. Following this, Dr. Newton took on the position of National Physician Lead for Thriving Schools at Kaiser Permanente from January 2016 to September 2018. In September 2018, they joined UnitedHealth Group as the National Senior Medical Director for Behavioral Health, a role they held until April 2020. Currently, Dr. Newton is the Chief Medical Officer at SonderMind, starting in April 2020.

Douglas Newton, MD, MPH, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. Douglas then pursued a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in International/Global Studies from the Yale School of Public Health, which they obtained in 2000.
