Douglas Newton, MD, MPH has extensive work experience in the healthcare field. Douglas began working as the Chief of Integrated Behavioral Health and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG) in July 2009, a role they held until March 2018. Douglas then pursued a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in International/Global Studies from the Yale School of Public Health, which they obtained in 2000.

After completing their M.P.H., Douglas attended the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth from 2004 to 2007, where they worked as a Resident in the field of General Psychiatry. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2009, they undertook a Fellowship in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Finally, in 2004, Douglas Newton obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
