Kate Mills

Kate Mills has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kate started their career as a Student and Substitute Teacher at Aurora Public Schools, Denver Public Schools, and Odyssey School for Expeditionary Learning from August 2011 to January 2013. Following that, they worked as a 7th Grade Language Arts Teacher at Cherry Creek School District from January 2013 to August 2015.

In July 2015, Kate joined Stratagem PC as an Administrative trainer and content manager. Kate was responsible for website content management, training new employees, streamlining firm procedures, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness for client projects. Kate stayed with the company until March 2017.

From February 2017 to April 2017, Kate worked as a UX Designer at TrainingPeaks, contributing to user experience design projects. Kate then joined BDW as a Product Design Graduate Student from August 2016 to May 2017.

In May 2017, they became a Product Designer at AUTOPAY, focusing on product design initiatives. Kate worked there until January 2018.

From January 2018 to September 2021, Kate was employed at Aetna, a CVS Health Company. Kate held different roles during their tenure, starting as a UX Designer, then becoming a Design Team Lead from February 2019 to December 2019. Finally, they served as a Senior UX Designer and team lead on the insurance basics design team, responsible for the overall experience and design strategy on various platforms supporting millions of members.

Most recently, Kate joined SonderMind in September 2021 as a Senior Product Designer.

Kate Mills has a strong educational background. Kate obtained a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Communication Design from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2017. Prior to that, they completed the Urban Community Teacher Education Program at the University of Colorado Denver in 2012, earning a Teaching Certification. Kate also holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature & Film Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kate has further certifications to enhance their skills and qualifications. Kate obtained the Certified SAFe 4 Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Training in May 2019.
