Michael S.

Michael S. began their work experience in 2012 at The Advisory Board Company, where they started as a Financial Analyst and later became a Senior Financial Analyst. Michael created multiyear proformas for product launches and tracked operating budgets, overhauled the budget process, and created a planning tool for greater efficiency. Michael also contributed to the company's first internal Data Center launch. In 2014, they were promoted to Associate Director of Finance, where they trained and managed analysts, provided financial support for high-growth business segments, and created M&A and business launch models. Michael joined Janus Henderson Investors U.S. in 2016 as a Senior Financial Analyst before being promoted to Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis in 2018. In this role, they led budget and financial analysis processes for global departments, managed a team, and provided coaching and training. Michael implemented financial controls and processes as a Finance Manager at SonderMind starting in 2021, advising leaders on staffing, budgets, and company performance, and creating headcount management processes and a compensation forecast.

Michael S. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University. Their major was Political Science, and they also minored in Financial Economics and Corporate Strategy. Additionally, they pursued a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business. In May 2016, they obtained the Intermediate Model Builder certification from Anaplan.
