Shelly Lloyd has a diverse work experience spanning several years. In 2001, they started their career as a Case Manager at the Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Social Caseworker at the Denver Department of Human Services. Following that, from 2009 to 2015, they served as the HBI Child Protection Supervisor at Savio House. In 2014, they began working part-time as a Therapist at E-Counseling, providing therapy through innovative modalities. In 2015, they joined New Century Hospice, Inc. as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Hospice department. In 2016, they transitioned to the United States Air Force as a Clinical Therapist (Civilian). Most recently, in 2022, they joined SonderMind as a Mental Health Therapist.

Shelly Lloyd's education history begins in 1994 when they attended Santa Fe Community College and obtained an Associate's degree in Psychology. Shelly then went on to The University of New Mexico, where they studied Psychology and Criminology and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from 1997 to 2000.

Continuing their educational journey, Shelly Lloyd attended New Mexico State University from 2001 to 2004, where they pursued a Master of Social Work degree, specializing in the field of Social Work.

In terms of additional certifications, Shelly Lloyd obtained a license as a Clinical Social Worker from the State of Colorado in November 2011.
