Marshall Wang

V.P Engineering at Sonera

Marshall Wang has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry. Marshall started their career in 1996 as an Engineering Director at Repeater Technologies, where they led a project team in developing state-of-the-art PCS over-the-air repeaters. This project contributed significantly to the company's revenue and led to its successful IPO in 2000.

In 2000, Marshall co-founded Signia Technologies, a wireless semiconductor company. As the CTO and Co-founder, they raised a total of $18M in capital from reputable corporations and venture capitalists. Marshall was responsible for fund raising, board meetings, and investor communication.

Starting in 2010, Marshall joined Cypress Semiconductor as the RFIC Design Director. In this role, they were responsible for developing the 3rd generation WirelessUSB products, helping Cypress regain its leading position in the 2.4GHz HID market.

From 2016 to 2018, Marshall worked at Cloudchip, Inc as the V.P. of Wireless IC Development. Marshall focused on developing competitive Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) SoC products for the emerging IoT/sensor markets.

Marshall joined Resonant Inc., a Murata Company, in 2019. Marshall initially served as the Senior Director of System Engineering, and later became the V.P. of Design Engineering. In this role, they built and led a strong filter design team that developed state-of-the-art Wi-Fi filters for 5G communication. Marshall also supported Resonant's top management in new product feasibility and sample development, contributing to Murata's acquisition of Resonant in 2022. After the acquisition, Marshall worked closely with Murata's manufacturing team during post-merger integration.

Most recently, Marshall joined Sonera in 2023 as the V.P. of Engineering.

Marshall Wang received their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 1985 to 1990.
