Austen Portz

Austen Portz is the SVP Engineering at Sonic Foundry. Austen has held this position since January 2017. Prior to that, they were the Director of Hardware Engineering from September 2012 to January 2017. Before that, they were the Hardware Engineering Manager from July 2011 to September 2012. Austen started at Sonic Foundry as a Hardware Engineer in December 2006 and held that position until July 2011. Austen also interned with Sonic Foundry in various positions from January 2004 to December 2006. Austen also has experience as a photographer, having worked as a photographer for Aerial Imagery from January 2003 to December 2003.

Austen Portz has studied electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has gained certification from PADI in rescue diving, advanced open water diving, and open water diving.

Austen Portz reports to Joe Mozden, CEO. They work with Steve McKee - SVP of Product & Technology, David Kalsbeek - VP Engineering, Video Systems, and Ken Minor - CFO.
