Michael Pikulski

Scientific Director Analytical Chemistry at Sonic Reference Laboratory

Michael Pikulski has a strong background in scientific research and laboratory management. Michael started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and worked there until 2007. Michael then joined Worldwide Clinical Trials as a Senior Scientist from 2007 to 2010. After that, they worked at Sonic Healthcare USA as the Director of Analytical Chemistry from 2010 to 2016. In 2016, they moved to Quest Diagnostics as a Scientific Director, specializing in Toxicology, where they worked until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Scientific Director of Analytical Chemistry at Sonic Reference Laboratory.

Michael Pikulski has an extensive education history in the field of Chemistry. Michael earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Electrochemistry from the same university, which they completed in 2001. Michael furthered their education by obtaining a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on Mass Spectrometry from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Additionally, Michael Pikulski has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Michael is a DABCC Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, having obtained this certification in April 2016. Michael also holds a NYSDOH Certificate of Qualification in various areas such as blood lead, clinical chemistry, and clinical toxicology, among others. Furthermore, Michael Pikulski is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) awarded by the Project Management Institute.
