Roberta Swain has over thirty years of professional experience. Roberta started their career in 1980 as an Accounting Manager for Mortgage Loans America. In 1990, they became an Office Manager - Bookkeeper for Farotte Construction. From 1995 to 2006, they worked for Amtrak in various roles, including Police Clerk, Acquisition Manager, and Commuter Coordinator. During this time, they were responsible for accounts payable, purchasing, record keeping, payroll, and officer support. Roberta also managed contract negotiation, implementation, and compliance, as well as project management on construction and service contracts, and risk management (terms and conditions, insurance, bonding, liquidated damages). From 2006 to 2010, they worked as a Project Integrator for Granite Services. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Technical Writer for Granite Services. Finally, from 2013 to the present, they have been an Operations Coordinator for Sonic Systems International, Inc. (SSI).

Roberta Swain attended El Camino College from 1975 to 1977, studying Business Law/Accounting. Roberta then attended Gavilan College from 1993 to 1994, studying Nursing Science. Finally, they attended Cape Fear Community College from 2008 to 2010, studying Marine Technology.
