Karen Moranski

Karen Moranski is the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Sonoma State University. Karen previously served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education at the University of Illinois Springfield from 2001 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the campus accreditation process with the Higher Learning Commission, developing and implementing undergraduate retention initiatives, leading campus assessment activities, and managing multiple operational and personnel budgets.

Moranski has also been active in writing grants for academic initiatives and matching donor interests with institutional needs. Karen has led a group of faculty researchers in a scholarship of teaching and learning project, and has participated in efforts to develop donors and write grants for academic initiatives.

Karen Moranski has a B.A. from Tulane University in English and Karen'story and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Medieval English Literature.
