Sr. R&D Engineer at Sonomotion

Austin Roth has worked in various engineering roles since 2004. Austin started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at UC Santa Barbara. In 2008, they became a Research Engineer at BioMedical Forensics, where they investigated accidents and injuries. From 2010 to 2012, Austin worked as a Graduate Student in Biomedical Engineering at San Jose State University, where they modeled mechanics and heat transfer of breast tissue during hyperthermia treatment. From 2012 to 2016, they were an R&D Engineer at ReCor Medical, where they performed a multitude of tasks including design/fabrication of thermal bench-testing systems and manufacturing fixtures, analysis of ultrasound and RF ablation heating profiles using tissue-mimicking phantoms with embedded thermocouples, and investigations into dosing parameters in vivo (animal/cadaver studies). Since 2016, Austin has been a Sr. R&D Engineer at Sonomotion Inc.

Austin Roth attended UC Santa Barbara from 2003 to 2008, where they earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Heat Transfer/Fluid Dynamics. Austin then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering at San Jose State University from 2011 to 2012.
