Chief Scientist at Sonovia

Oleg Chaschikhin, PhD has a diverse work experience across various companies and research institutions. Oleg started their career as a Process-engineer intern at Procter & Gamble in 2011, where they improved the quality and process parameters of Lenor sector products. In 2013, they continued their work at Procter & Gamble as a Process-engineer, managing department processes control and improving statistical process control systems.

In 2013, Oleg also joined the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics (IPCP RAS) as a Research Engineer, specializing in functional inorganic materials. Oleg later became a Junior Research Scientist in the Department of Functional Inorganic Materials at IPCP RAS, focusing on research under the guidance of Professor Dobrovolsky.

In 2017, Oleg worked as an R&D Assistant at WayRay, a company involved in the development of augmented reality technology for automotive applications. Later that year, they joined Stentex LLC as a Functional and Metallography Lab Engineer, where they oversaw the validation and transfer of medical device test methods and equipment qualification for the Quality Control Department.

Starting in 2019, Oleg worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Prof. Rafal Klajn's Lab at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Their research focused on the synthesis of organic and metal-organic substances, as well as the development of metal, semiconductor, and perovskite nanoparticles.

In 2021, Oleg joined Merck Group as a Scientist at QLight Nanotech, where they were involved in the development of formulations for optical coatings manufacturing. Oleg also worked on the synthesis and application development of nanoparticles and metalloorganic compounds, resulting in the filing of two PCT patent applications.

Currently, Oleg is working at Sonovia Ltd. as a Project Manager and Senior Chemistry Researcher. Oleg is responsible for the development of formulations and processes for textile dyeing applications. During their time at Sonovia, Oleg has filed a provisional patent application and received a grant from the Israel Innovation Authority.

Oleg Chaschikhin, PhD, holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) which they obtained from 2008 to 2013. Following this, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical Chemistry from the Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences from 2013 to 2016. In addition to their academic qualifications, Oleg has acquired several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. These certifications include the Google Project Management Certificate from Coursera obtained in May 2022, the Become a Project Manager certification from LinkedIn obtained in July 2021, the Build Your Project Management Skills certification also from LinkedIn obtained in July 2021, the Mathematics and Python for Data Analysis certification from Coursera obtained in November 2017, and the Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python certification from edX obtained in November 2015.
