Ken Miyashita has extensive work experience in software engineering and development. Ken began their career at Sony in 1996 as a Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented a 3D data browser for VRML. Ken also developed a VRML Browser and a 3D multi-user community service called "PAW".
In 2002, Miyashita became a Senior Software Engineer at Sony and led a development team in designing and implementing graphical user interface (GUI) systems for Sony products, such as the BluRay-disc recorder, Cybershot camera, CLIE UX-50, and Handycam. Ken utilized their expertise in C++ and OpenGL to design and implement GUI libraries, as well as C# and DotNET framework to create authoring tools for the GUI systems.
From 2007 to 2012, Miyashita served as a Distinguished Engineer at Sony, leading an R&D team in prototyping new user experiences. Ken presented prototype systems at the Sony in-house technology exhibition each year and demonstrated technical expertise in OpenGL and OpenCV for interactive user interfaces with rich animation.
In 2012, Miyashita became a Senior Software Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment, where they led the development team for the Game Hub on PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5. Ken analyzed requirements, designed the architecture, and improved the user experience of the Game Hub for purchasing and playing games.
In 2018, Miyashita took on the role of Staff Software Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment, where they continued to lead the development team for the Game Hub on PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5. As a technical lead and solution architect, they initiated discussions, analyzed requirements, and designed the basic architecture for projects involving multiple teams.
Ken Miyashita obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Tokyo, where they studied from 1988 to 1993.
