Maurizio Cerrato has a wealth of experience in the gaming industry. Maurizio currently holds the position of Senior Principal Graphics Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment, starting in 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Principal R&D Graphics Engineer at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe from 2018 to 2022, and as a Senior R&D Graphics Engineer at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe from 2015 to 2022. Maurizio also briefly worked as a Platform Programmer at Sports Interactive in 2015.

Before joining Sony, Maurizio held various roles in different companies. Maurizio served as the Technical Director at Playerthree Ltd from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they worked at Geniaware srl as a Game Programmer, where they contributed to the development of the football simulator "Lords of Football" for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Maurizio also has experience as a Ph.D. student at Università Degli Studi di Salerno in 2009, a Programmer at Nexsoft spa in 2008, and a Teacher at Jobiz Formazione in 2008. Maurizio gained valuable skills as a Programmer at Genna Group in 2008, specifically working on the indie video game "Jump and Ghost" for the Playon Arcade Machine.

Throughout their career, Maurizio has demonstrated expertise in graphics engineering, R&D, gameplay programming, and AI development.

Maurizio Cerrato completed their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the Università degli Studi di Salerno in 2005. Maurizio then pursued further education and achieved a Master of Science degree in computer science from the same university in 2007.
