Howard Kaplan is the Director of Advising & Technology at Harvard Innovation Labs. Howard has held this position since July 2017. In this role, they lead a product team of 8 staff members and is responsible for the product strategy across the Harvard Innovation Labs ecosystem.
Under Kaplan's leadership, the Harvard Innovation Labs have grown 3x, serving over 750 ventures across all programs and labs. Howard has personally coached 88 ventures within the Harvard ecosystem, including Evisort, Zoba, Zubale, Sophya, MyToolbox Technologies, Elios, ReThink, Loro, Dexai Robotics, MakerFleet, Karuna Health, wayscript, OZE, STEMgem and many more.
The Harvard Innovation Labs are a cross-disciplinary ecosystem for the entire Harvard community to explore innovation and entrepreneurship. The i-lab enables student entrepreneurs to explore innovation at any stage. It provides open co-working space, a vibrant community of peer and mentor support, experiential programming, and a 12-week Venture Incubation Program helping teams take their ideas as far as they can go.
Howard Kaplan completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Howard Kaplan reports to Vishal Punwani, CEO. They work with Michelle Zak - Digital Marketing, Sehr Taneja - User Experience and Research, and Alex Hugon - Product Designer.
