Mel Walker has extensive experience in product management and project management roles. They started their career in 1998 as an Associate Producer at Sierra Online, where they led teams in software development and market research. Mel then worked as a Product Manager at Onvia.com, performing market research and defining new product features. They later became a Project Manager at Candesa, overseeing internet development projects for various clients.

In 2002, Mel joined Ingenix as a Project Manager, managing a multimillion-dollar software development effort for healthcare providers. They were responsible for project planning, tracking, and resource allocation. After Ingenix, Mel joined Sorenson Media as a Senior Project Manager, where they established agile processes and stage-gates for product development. They expanded these processes when the company split into Sorenson Communications and Sorenson Media.

Mel then moved to Sorenson Communications, where they held several positions. As the Vice President of New Product Development, they connected people by delivering video interpreting services and innovative products. They later became the Senior Director of Product Management and played a key role in growing the company.

In 2014, Mel joined CaptionCall, a company owned by the same management team as Sorenson Communications, as the Senior Director of Product Management. They focused on providing real-time captions for people with hearing difficulties.

In 2017, Mel joined InteractiveCare as the Vice President of Business Development. They led the intrapreneur effort to create remote patient monitoring and documentation services for post-acute providers. The solution offered virtual patient visits and automated note-taking for documentation.

Mel Walker earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from the University of Utah from 1996 to 1999. In 2003 and 2004, Mel pursued MBA coursework in Technology Management at Westminster University. Mel also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Cambridge for an unspecified period. In 2019, Mel attended The Wharton School for an Executive Education program focused on Mergers & Acquisitions.
