Semhar Beyene

Semhar Beyene has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Semhar currently serves as the Director of Marketing at Sorenson Communications since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Creative Marketing Manager at SignVideo and Sign Language Interactions from May 2021 to June 2022.

Semhar also gained valuable experience as a Digital Designer at the International Institute for Strategic Studies from October 2018 to April 2021, where they produced digital assets and promotional videos for various publications and events. Semhar briefly worked as a CBeebies TV Presenter at BBC in March 2021.

Earlier in their career, Semhar served as a Senior Graphic Designer & Social Media Coordinator at Cochlear Europe from February 2013 to December 2017. Semhar developed design expertise for marketing campaigns and social media tactics. Semhar also worked as a Digital Designer at Media Training Ltd in 2012, gaining proficiency in HTML coding and CSS elements.

Semhar's work experience also includes roles at Action on Hearing Loss, where they served as Lead Graphic Designer and Junior Graphic Designer from April 2011 to April 2012 and April 2008 to April 2011, respectively. Additionally, they worked as a Visual Designer and Freelance Graphic Designer at Goddiva and Ricochet Design, respectively, earlier in their career.

Semhar Beyene obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University for the Creative Arts from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at the University of the Arts London from 2001 to 2002. In addition, they hold a certification in HSE First Aid at Work from St John Ambulance.
