David Layton

David Layton has a diverse background in the commercial real estate industry. David is currently the Chief Credit Officer for Commercial Real Estate at Sound Point Capital Management, LP. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2021, they served as a Managing Director and Head of Asset Management at Man GPM. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Managing Director and Head of CRE Asset Management at Benefit Street Partners Realty Trust. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Vice President at Brookfield Real Estate Financial Partners LLC from 2004 to 2014. Before that, they worked at Deloitte as a Manager in the Real Estate Capital Markets Advisory Group from 1999 to 2004. David began their career at Holmes & Layton, Inc. as a Senior Real Estate Appraiser from 1993 to 1999.

David Layton attended Arizona State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
