Coach Development Specialist at Sounding Board

Emily Burnett has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Emily started their career as a Peer Writing Consultant and Residential Advisor at Bucknell University in 2011, while also serving as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Maryland in 2013. Emily then worked as an Undergraduate Summer Intern at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in 2012.

In 2013, Emily joined Paper Source as a Customer Service Associate before transitioning to Be Fluent NYC as an Instructor, where they provided conversational error analysis instruction and co-created a pilot Spanish curriculum.

In 2015, Emily took on various roles at The New School, including a Graduate Teaching Fellow and Part-Time Faculty member. Emily designed and implemented curriculum for English courses, collaborated with non-profit organizations and coordinated with university leaders to monitor and communicate student progress.

Following that, Emily worked at LaGuardia Community College as an ESOL Programs Coordinator, overseeing part-time instructors and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Emily also served as an instructor and curriculum developer for ESOL and ESP courses.

In 2017, Emily joined Fluent City as a Content Developer and Teacher Trainer, delivering language programs and leading curriculum development in English and Spanish. Emily then transitioned to Sounding Board, Inc in 2021, where they held roles as a Coach Development Associate and currently as a Coach Development Specialist. At Sounding Board, Emily contributes to the development and delivery of leadership development programs using adaptive software and world-class coaching expertise.

Lastly, from 2019 to 2021, Emily worked at the NeuroLeadership Institute in roles such as Associate Instructional Designer, Instructional Design and Product Operations, and Product Coordinator. Emily conceptualized and designed learning products, developed new products, and managed projects related to DE&I, coaching, and leadership training.

Overall, Emily Burnett has demonstrated a strong background in instructional design, curriculum development, coaching, and leadership development across various industries and organizations.

Emily Burnett completed their education in a chronological order. Emily attended Severna Park Senior High School from 2006 to 2010, earning a High School diploma with a focus on General Studies. Emily then pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Neuroscience at Bucknell University from 2010 to 2014. During their undergraduate studies, they also had the opportunity to study Spanish Language and Literature at Universidad de Granada for a semester in 2013.

After completing their bachelor's degree, Emily attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2014, where they obtained a TESOL Training Course certification. Subsequently, in 2015, they enrolled at The New School, where they completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in TESOL.

Additionally, Emily has obtained additional certifications. In December 2014, they earned a TESOL Certificate from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Most recently, in September 2021, they completed the Introduction to Moodle™ Site Administration certification offered by eThink Education by Open LMS.
