Manuel Mendez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental management and conservation. Currently serving as Program Director-Hydroponics and Hydroponics Training Coordinator at South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBRO), since August 2018, Mendez has successfully managed the Hydroponics program, creating operational plans that facilitated collaboration with local organizations and educational institutions. Previously, Mendez worked with the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales in El Salvador, contributing to the Forest Landscape Restoration Program through strategic planning and monitoring systems. Additional consulting roles included work with the Inter-American Biodiversity Information Network, where a database system for pollinator species was developed, and multiple projects aimed at biodiversity surveys and habitat conservation in protected areas. Mendez holds a Master's degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management from Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad Nacional de El Salvador.
