Joan Brown has a diverse work experience background. Joan began their career in 1999 as the Executive Director of the Legal Aid Telephone Intake Service (LATIS), where they served until 2001. Following this, Joan worked as a Private Practice attorney at their own firm, Joan Brown, Attorney at Law, from March 2001 to November 2003. Most recently, they joined the South Carolina Bar in December 2003, where they currently hold the position of Public Services Counsel/LRS Director.
Joan Brown completed their Bachelor's degree in Business at the University of South Carolina from 1976 to 1985. Following this, they pursued their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law at the University of South Carolina School of Law from 1985 to 1988.
