Romi Robinson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of employment and workforce. Romi began their career in 1993 as an Administrative Hearing Officer with the SC Employment Security Commission. In 1995, they joined the SC Department of Employment and Workforce as an Assistant General Counsel, a role they held until 2011. From 2011 to 2017, Romi served as the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer. Romi then transitioned to the position of Deputy Director of Appeals from 2017 to 2019, and subsequently became the Interim Director of Appeals until 2020. Currently, Romi holds the position of Director of Appeals at the SC Department of Employment and Workforce.
Romi Robinson has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. They also have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from Furman University. In addition to their formal education, Romi obtained a certification in "Building Resilience as a Leader" from LinkedIn in May 2021.
