Teare Brewington

Teare Brewington is the Vice President of Finance and Management at South Carolina State University. Teare has held this position since July 2014. Prior to that, they were the Comptroller at Livingstone College from July 2012 to June 2014. In this role, they were responsible for managing the activities of the institution's Business Office, preparing and monitoring the annual institutional budget, and overseeing departmental budgets. Teare also was responsible for preparing GAAP financial statements and related footnotes, as well as the Schedule of Federal Awards required for the A-133 report. In addition, they ensured that an effective system of internal accounting controls was in place by reviewing department policies and procedures.

Teare Brewington has an MBA in Finance from The University of Akron and a Bachelors in Accounting from The University of Akron. Teare is also certified from the State of Ohio and North Carolina in CPA.
