Yuanyue Dang

Yuanyue Dang is a reporter specializing in China's politics and policies at the South China Morning Post since December 2022. Prior to this role, Yuanyue served as a feature writer at Esquire China from August 2021 to December 2022, focusing on editorial and reporting tasks within the features team. Yuanyue's experience also includes working as a writer for current affairs at the Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre and as an in-depth reporter at 新京报 from September 2018 to March 2019, where in-depth and investigative reporting was a primary focus. An internship at Initium Media Technology in 2016 further established Yuanyue's skills in reporting on various topics, highlighted by winning a Merit Award for investigative reporting. Yuanyue holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Journalism and Communication from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master of Science in Social and Cultural Anthropology from UCL, and has pursued various international study programs.
