Julia Loshelder

Julia Loshelder is an Assistant Professor at South Dakota Mines since August 2024, following a doctoral tenure at the University of Arkansas from May 2020 to July 2024. Prior to that, Julia served as a PhD Research Fellow at the NGI - Norwegian Geotechnical Institute from September 2022 to June 2023. Julia held leadership roles in the American Society of Civil Engineers as President and Conference Chair from January 2018 to May 2020, during which responsibilities included overseeing concrete canoe construction. Earlier experience includes undergraduate research in geotechnical engineering at the University of Arkansas and participation in NSF-funded projects, along with a summer internship with the Texas Department of Transportation. Julia earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
