Debbie Below

Debbie Below is the current Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success at Southeast Missouri State University. Debbie has been in this role since December of 2011. Prior to their current position, Debbie served as the Faculty for AACRAO from December 2008 to December 2011.

Before their time with AACRAO, Debbie was the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Jefferson College from December 1993 to December 2000. From September 2011 to December 2012, Debbie was the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management/Director of Admissions at Southeast Missouri State University. Prior to that, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management/Director of Admissions at Southeast Missouri State University from July 2008 to August 2011. Debbie has also held the position of Director of Admissions at Southeast Missouri State University from January 2002 to June 2003.

Debbie began their career at Southeast Missouri State University in December 1989 as an Admissions Counselor. Debbie later became the Acting Director of Admissions and Interim Assistant Director of Residence Life before leaving the university in 1993.

Debbie Below has a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Debbie also has an MSA in Public Administration from Southeast Missouri State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from the same school.

They are on a team with John Mehner - AVP, Economic & Workforce Development, Christopher Martin - Chief of Staff, and Mike Godard - Provost. Debbie Below reports to Carlos Vargas-Aburto, President.
