Callie Dominique Speer

Callie Dominique Speer, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over more than fifteen years. Upon completing their doctorate, they joined Terra Dotta, LLC in 2021 as a Product Specialist. Prior to this, they worked at North Dakota State University for nearly a decade from 2011 to 2021. During their time there, they held the position of Study Abroad Coordinator, where they managed study and internship abroad programs, coordinated academic and financial arrangements, conducted risk assessments, and maintained a database of programs. Callie Dominique also served as a Study Abroad Advisor from 2011 to 2018. Before joining North Dakota State University, Callie worked at Concordia College as a Program Coordinator, Global Education from 2007 to 2011. Earlier in their career, they gained experience in various roles including Banker Connection Specialist at Wells Fargo, Customer Care Specialist at Upstream, Interim Abroad Programs Coordinator at Concordia Language Villages, and English Language Pre-School Teacher at Y.P.S. Jidoen. Overall, Callie has demonstrated expertise in international education, program management, risk assessment, and database management throughout their career.

Callie Dominique obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from the University of Minnesota-Morris between the years 1999 and 2003. During their undergraduate studies, they also pursued Asian Studies at Kansai Gaidai University and obtained a Certificate in that field from 2001 to 2002. Callie Dominique furthered their education at North Dakota State University, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Sociology from 2012 to 2015. Later, they continued their academic journey at the same institution and successfully completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Education from 2015 to 2022. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Gilman Selection Panelist from the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which they obtained in March 2021.
