Edward Heist

Edward Heist is the Associate Director of the Center for Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences at Southern Illinois University. Edward received their PhD in marine biology from Texas A&M University in 1995 and worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the university until 1998. Their research interests include fisheries science, aquaculture, and aquatic ecology.

Dr. Edward Heist is a marine scientist who earned their Ph.D. from William & Mary. Edward also holds a BS and MS in biology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Edward Heist reports to Gary Kinsel, Interim Vice Chancellor for Research. Some of their coworkers include Ami Ruffing - Director, Office of Research Compliance, Nancy Smith - Business/Administrative Associate, and Melissa Houghland - Administrative Aide.
