Christopher Mazziotto

Director of Business Development at Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation - SMIF

Christopher oversees SMIF’s SBA technical assistance offerings to startups and small businesses. Technical assistance may include business training and education, one-on-one mentoring with industry experts and business professionals, or various funding opportunities to get businesses the right resources at the right time. Christopher also helps convene local and regional food hubs in a way that leverages southern Minnesota’s natural agricultural resources and that creates an economic environment where food/ag businesses can thrive. In this role, Christopher collaborates with local and regional entrepreneurial service providers to create opportunities for startups to grow and scale.

Prior to joining SMIF, Christopher worked at multiple startup accelerators where he helped entrepreneurs think objectively about the innovation process and build strong business models that generate revenue. He also previously worked in a corporation as a senior analyst in mergers and acquisitions where he conducted financial and data analysis. Christopher, originally from Connecticut, loves every moment with his family and enjoys traveling, playing billiards, reading non-fiction (history!), environmental sustainability, learning about software development and computer programming, and learning about advances in science and mathematics.
