Maria Flores Blackburn

Maria Flores Blackburn, CPA, currently serves as the Inclusion Action Team Chair at Southern Power, where the mission focuses on promoting diversity and inclusion within the workforce. With a robust background in tax accounting and finance, Maria has held roles such as Senior Financial Analyst and Renewable Energy Tax Accountant at Southern Company, and Tax Senior at Smith & Howard, responsible for complex tax return preparations and compliance. Earlier career experiences include founding Flores Cleaning Services and holding various roles at Windham Brannon, Turner & Associates, and with university positions that demonstrate leadership and mentorship. Maria holds an MBA, along with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Reinhardt University.
