Natalie Balfour

Natalie Balfour has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Natalie is currently working at Toka Tū Ake EQC as the Head of Research since October 2022, and previously worked as the Manager of Research from December 2020 to October 2022. Prior to that, Natalie worked at GNS Science for several years, holding positions such as GeoNet Product Development Manager from September 2019 to November 2020, Science Operations and Data Team Leader from March 2019 to September 2019, and GeoNet Data Management Team Leader from December 2016 to March 2019. Natalie also worked as a GeoNet Science Operations Specialist from February 2016 to December 2016. Natalie's earlier work experience includes roles as a Research Fellow at the Australian National University from January 2015 to January 2016, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow from May 2011 to December 2014. Natalie started their career as a Research Assistant and Data Manager at Geoscience Australia in 2005.

Natalie Balfour completed their education with a PhD in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of Victoria, which they obtained from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science in Geophysics and Seismology from Victoria University of Wellington, attending from 2004 to 2005.
