Scott McHardy

Scott McHardy has held various roles throughout their career. Scott started as an Analyst at Rothschild Australia Asset Management in 2000 before becoming a Consultant at Marakon Associates in 2001. In 2002, they joined the New Zealand Treasury as a Senior Analyst, where they remained until 2007. During their time at the Treasury, they gained experience in economic analysis and policy development. From 2007 to 2012, Scott worked for the Ministry of Economic Development, New Zealand, first as a Counsellor (Economic) at the New Zealand High Commission in Canberra and later as a Private Secretary in the Office of Hon Gerry Brownlee. In 2012, they joined the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment as the Acting Manager of Business Development Policy, and in 2013, they became the Manager of International Strategy and Partnerships. Most recently, Scott has been working at the Earthquake Commission (EQC) as the Principal Advisor. Scott has recently transitioned into the role of Head of Risk Finance.

Scott McHardy completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies at the University of Otago from 1989 to 1992. Scott then pursued their MBA at the London Business School between 1999 and 2001. Later, from 2009 to 2011, they completed their Executive Masters of Public Administration at the Australian National University.
