Jason Windsor has had extensive work experience in law enforcement and public service. Jason began their career in 1991 as a Ranger Reserve for the City of Huntsville and later joined the Marshall County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff in 1995. Jason quickly progressed to the role of Patrol Sergeant and also served as a D.A.R.E. officer during this time. In 1998, they became a Lieutenant in the same Sheriff's Office and held this position until 2019.
Additionally, Jason Windsor has held leadership roles outside of the Sheriff's Office. Jason served as the President of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association since 2017, advocating for better pay, benefits, and laws for law enforcement professionals. From 2006 to 2018, they also served as the Chairman of the Board for the Marshall County Personnel Board, overseeing employee salaries, benefits, and personnel matters.
Furthermore, Jason Windsor has been involved in community organizations, such as the Court Appointed Juvenile Advocate and the Alabama Fusion Center. Jason served on the Board of Directors for the Court Appointed Juvenile Advocate and acted as a Liaison Officer for the Alabama Fusion Center, providing critical information on terrorist and anti-Government groups.

Jason Windsor obtained a high school diploma with a field of study in Marketing from Albertville High School in 1992. From 1992 to 1993, they attended Gadsden State Community College, studying Criminal Justice/Police Science. Following this, from 1995 to 1996, Jason attended Selma Police Academy, specializing in Law Enforcement.

The Southern States Police Benevolent Association, Inc. is composed of more than 50,000 law enforcement officers employed by federal, state, county and municipal governments. This professional association, funded by membership dues and citizen contributions, provides legal, disciplinary and other representation to officers who are members. The Southern States Police Benevolent Association is "The Voice of Law Enforcement Officers."
