William Newton

William Newton, DO MS, is a highly experienced medical professional specializing in interventional spine and pain management. Currently serving as the Medical Director of the Spine and Pain program at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System since January 2022, William Newton has a robust background that includes leadership roles such as Secretary/Treasurer and President of the Tennessee Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Medical Director at the Interventional Spine and Pain Center. Additional expertise is demonstrated through consulting work with Boston Scientific, speaking engagements with Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies and Zogenix, and academic contributions as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt University. An extensive educational background includes degrees in Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University, Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Illinois State University, and a BA in European History/Athletic Training from Stony Brook University.
