Michelle Lafitte Owen

Michelle Lafitte Owen is the strategy manager for Internal Audit at Southwest Airlines. Michelle has also worked for Real Manors and Home Advisors. Michelle has been with Southwest Airlines since March 2014 and in their current position since September 2020. Prior to their current position, they served as the Chief-of-Staff to the CAE. In this role, they were responsible for building and guiding strategies for a successful Internal Audit operation in support of team Team's goals & objectives, in areas including, but not limited to, audit planning & risk assessment, audit procedures & standards, quality assurance & improvement, audit communication, productivity measurement, capacity planning, on-boarding, training & development, recognition and engagement, capability management, as well as provides support for the Board of Directors and Audit Committee, audit stakeholders, and the Internal Audit department.

Michelle Lafitte Owen received their MBA from Southern Methodist University - Cox School of Business, with a focus in finance and strategy. Michelle also holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin, where they majored in communication with minors in business and French.
