Gail Carmona

Gail Carmona has a diverse range of work experience in the field of Human Resources. Gail is currently the Director of Corporate Human Resources at Southwest Gas Corporation, a position they began in 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Global Talent Acquisition at Light & Wonder from March 2022 to August 2022. In this role, they led various initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment, as well as adapting talent acquisition strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before joining Light & Wonder, Gail worked as the Director of Talent Acquisition at Scientific Games from June 2019 to March 2022. From January 2014 to November 2017, they held the position of Vice President - Human Resources (Talent Acquisition) at MGM Resorts International, where they oversaw talent acquisition functions and introduced processes to enhance overall performance.

Gail has a long-standing history with Citibank, where they held various roles from 1985 to 2012. These roles included Senior Vice President - Human Resources - North America Consumer Operations | Technology, Vice President - Human Resources - Leadership Staffing | Development Programs, Vice President - Human Resources - Leadership Staffing | Development Management, and HR Manager. During their time at Citibank, they led a matrixed team, facilitated organizational design, recruitment lifecycle, performance evaluation, and compensation administration. Additionally, they played a crucial role in navigating the 2008 mortgage crisis and establishing talent management processes.

Throughout their career, Gail has gained extensive experience in employee relations, compensation planning, benefits administration, talent development, and quality management programs.

Gail Carmona obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where they studied from 1981 to 1984. In addition to their degree, they have earned several certifications throughout their career. In 2013, they obtained the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM-SCP certification from the HR Certification Institute. In 2015, they obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification from SHRM. Most recently, in December 2022, Gail obtained a certification in Nano Tips for Developing Magnetic Charisma from LinkedIn.
