Bob Heidinger

Bob Heidinger is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as the Director of Tactical Aerospace at Southwest Research Institute since October 2022, where management of the P&L for aerospace LRU’s and complex electronics in defense markets is a primary focus. Previously, Bob held the role of General Manager at Mercury Systems, leading various aspects of the Mesa site and program management, and emphasized Integrated Modular Avionics System Architecture. As Director of Engineering and Program Management at Advanced Technology Systems Company, Bob oversaw multi-discipline engineering teams supporting Foreign Military Sales C4ISR programs. Bob's earlier experience includes a long tenure at Cobham Avionics and Honeywell, where significant responsibilities included managing large engineering departments and software development for flight control systems across multiple aviation sectors. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota Mines, earned in 1986.
